In May 2020, an artist from the community attempted to commit suicide during the lockdown. Prince, an artist from Mumbai, was able to take the artist to the hospital on time, and the person recovered to health. The reason for attempted suicide was the lack of money and hunger. This lead to an understanding that there are many other artists in need.

Thus, began a journey where Prince along with a few artists came together to strengthen the community by buying them food essentials during the COVID-19 pandemic. From here, Artists For Artists came to be.

At present, A4A procures groceries at wholesale prices from retailers, packs them, and dispatches them across Mumbai, Mumbai Suburbans, Navi Mumbai, Thane, and Palghar. Following this, the on-field artist volunteers pick up kits from our delivery truck and distribute them to those in need.

Our mission is to help fellow artists who are in dire need however we can. Currently, that looks like buying groceries during the pandemic.

We believe a little goes a long way and that showing up for our community is a matter of great importance.
